A number counts the lanterns directly above, below, left and right of it. Never diagonal.
02All lanterns form one chain
Every lantern connects edge to edge into one group. No islands.
03No 2×2 block of lanterns
Four lanterns may never fill a 2×2 square.

How to Play
Light the lanterns by logic. Every Wickgrid has exactly one solution, and you can always reach it by pure deduction, never guessing.
Clues count neighbors
A numbered cell equals the count of lit lanterns directly touching it: up, down, left and right, never diagonal. A clue cell can itself be lit or dark; the number only counts its neighbors.
One connected chain
Every lit lantern must connect to the others through orthogonal neighbors, forming a single continuous chain. No lone lanterns, no separate islands.
No 2×2 pools
A full 2×2 block of lanterns is never allowed. This keeps every solution elegant and unambiguous.
Marking
Tap a cell to cycle it: unknown, lantern, dark, then back to unknown. Dark marks are notes to help you think. Only the lanterns need to match the solution. On a keyboard, arrow keys move and Space cycles.
Winning
Marking every lantern correctly doesn’t win on its own. Press Check when you’re confident. A correct board wins immediately; an incorrect one counts as a mistake and briefly shows how many cells are wrong, so think it through before you check.
Hints
Stuck? A hint reveals one correct cell. You get 3 free hints each puzzle; unlock Wickgrid Plus in the app for unlimited hints.
A solver’s tip
Start from the most constrained clues. A 0 means every neighbor is dark, and a 4 means every neighbor is lit. Then let the connection rule do the rest: a lantern that would be stranded must actually be dark.
